Top 10 High-Traffic OOH Routes in Dubai for Mobile Billboard Advertising
Ten corridors and zones that consistently deliver for mobile outdoor advertising in Dubai, what each one is actually good for, and the timing that makes or breaks them.
A mobile billboard is only as good as its route. The same truck, the same creative and the same budget will produce very different results depending on where it spends its hours, and the honest answer to “where should it go?” is always “it depends who you want”.
These are the ten corridors and zones we plan around most often, and what each is genuinely good for. Routes are always subject to what each area permits, which we check before anything is agreed.
1. Sheikh Zayed Road
The obvious one, and still the backbone of most campaigns. Enormous volume, heavily commercial, and the corridor where a brand looks established simply by appearing. Best in peak flows rather than free-flowing traffic – a billboard is read at 40km/h, not 120.
2. Downtown Dubai and Dubai Mall
Dense, slow-moving and international. Strong for launches, luxury, hospitality and anything aimed at visitors. Evening is the time that matters here, and parking around the mall is the practical constraint to plan around.
3. Dubai Marina and JBR
Residential, young, high-spend and very walkable. The Walk is one of the few places where a vehicle and walking billboards work genuinely well side by side. Thursday and Friday evenings are the peak.
4. Business Bay
Offices, towers and congestion. Excellent for B2B, recruitment, services and anything aimed at professionals, and it has the advantage of a reliable daily rhythm – morning in, lunch out, evening home.
5. Al Khail Road
The corridor people actually commute on. Less glamorous than Sheikh Zayed Road and often better value for reaching residents rather than visitors, particularly for FMCG, retail and services.
6. Deira and Bur Dubai
Old Dubai, dense, and frequently skipped by brands chasing a glossier audience. For value retail, remittance, telecoms, grocery and anything mass-market, the footfall here is hard to beat.
7. Jumeirah Beach Road
Affluent residential with a steady, unhurried flow. Good for property, automotive, healthcare, education and family services. Weekend mornings are the window.
8. Al Barsha and Mall of the Emirates
A reliable retail anchor with heavy weekend traffic and a mixed audience. Works well as the second stop on a route that starts Downtown.
9. DIFC
Narrow, affluent and professional. Low volume by comparison, but the audience quality is the point. Lunchtime and early evening only – it empties afterwards.
10. Event perimeters and seasonal grounds
Not a road but a strategy. Global Village, Expo City, concert grounds, match days and exhibition venues concentrate exactly the audience an event has already gathered for you. A truck on the approach road, or a branded bus parked as a hospitality space, both work here.
How to actually choose
Pick two or three, not ten. A campaign that covers everything covers nothing often enough to be remembered, and frequency is what makes outdoor work.
- Visitors and launches: Downtown, Marina, Sheikh Zayed Road
- Residents and mass retail: Al Khail, Deira, Al Barsha
- B2B and professional: Business Bay, DIFC, Sheikh Zayed Road at peak
- A specific moment: the event perimeter, every time
Timing matters as much as place. The same route run at the wrong hour is a different campaign entirely. We plan routes around traffic, footfall and what each location permits – send us the audience and the dates and we will come back with a route rather than a list of roads.
